Sunfest celebrates its 40th year as Ocean City’s biggest and best festival. Popular entertainers highlight four days of fall fun with arts & crafts, big-top tents, food vendors & more. All entertainment is free with the exception of evening headline acts. Sunfest artists will delight your senses with their unique designs of fine art & distinctive crafts. Try the bold taste of the Eastern Shore with fabulous food from over 30 food vendors, featuring seafood, crab cakes, fried chicken, pit beef and more. Children’s activities are available on Saturday & Sunday.

1. Free parking is available at the West Ocean City Park & Ride. Park free & ride shuttle bus to Sunfest for $1. 
2. Ride the Boardwalk Tram to the Inlet for $3 each way. 
3. Express trolley shuttles will depart from the south lot of the Roland E. Powell Convention Center at 40th Street (free parking). Trolley shuttle fares: ride all day for $3 or $1 per boarding.
4. Free parking at the Public Safety Building on 65th St, Northside Park on 125th St or Municipal Lot on 100th St. Then ride the bus to Sunfest. Bus fares: ride all day for $3 or $1 per boarding.

Randy Lee Ashcraft has been entertaining people all over the country for over 20 years and has returned home to the Eastern Shore to perform for his favorite fans! His music is often referred to as ‘beach country’. A former Green Beret in the United States Army, Randy has released five albums, which combined have sold over 20,000 copies to places as far reaching as Europe. In 1999, he received a citation from Governor Parris Glendening of Maryland honoring his ‘dedicated efforts to share the beauty of the Eastern Shore of Maryland region through his music and the song ‘Shore Thing”.  Randy is also the ’02, ’03, ’04, and ’05 winner for Best Entertainer/Singer of the Eastern Shore, the ’03, ’04, and ’05 winner for Best Singer/Songwriter on Delmarva, and the ’08 Entertainer of the Year as presented by the Coconut Times.

The Galaxy Collective is an indie/funkabilly/alternative/jam band from the Ocean City, MD area. Members include vocalist and guitarist Phil Knight, lead guitarist and vocalist Otto Grundman, bass and vocalist Matt Smith and drummer Johnny Harrison. Their diverse musical influences contribute to a sound that is all their own. Their debut show in April 2011 was a hit and they’ve been playing steadily ever since.

Oktoberfest @ Market Street between Front & 2nd Street

The Lewes Chamber of Commerce’s Historic Lewes Business Committee is sponsoring their third Oktoberfest on Friday, September 19.  Market Street, between Front Street and Second Street, will be closed to traffic from 3 – 7 p.m. and the event will take place from 4 to 6:30 p.m. 
The consumption of beer and German food are integral to an Oktoberfest celebration.  Lewes will create a “beer garden” atmosphere on Market Street MINUS the beer to be in compliance with the City’s ordinances.  Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is synonymous with beer and they are sponsoring the event for the third year by offering commemorative glass beer steins with the Dogfish logo and the Lewes Oktoberfest logo on sale beginning Monday, September 15 at the Chamber’s visitor center in the Fisher-Martin House in Zwaanendael Park, and at the festival site beginning at 3 pm on Friday, September 19.  
Bring your steins into participating restaurants and receive a discount on Dogfish beer on Oktoberfest Day.  German cuisine will be featured in many of the restaurants as well!   A group of costumed Bavarian-style dancers will be performing and will encourage festival-goers to dance along with them. A 10-piece German Oompah band, The Happy Wanderers, also will be entertaining and everyone is encouraged to wear their lederhosen and dirndls and show off your best dancing skills.

Dave Hawkins, an accomplished musician, has been playing music for what seems to be his entire life. Music is his passion and he is passionate about how it’s perceived throughout his audience. He plays many guitars, harmonica, and fiddle and when you hear him you will think there is a whole band, not just one person. This is accomplished by what is known as looping.  There is never a ‘backing track’ to play along with, which is used by some other players out there. His vocals and music will reach the deepest part of you while it sets your senses alive. He plays sounds from the current popular, to classic rock, to Dave Matthews, to his own original compositions as he touches on just about any genre you may desire.
